How It Works · Comfort Concepts QCA

Your Custom Storage Installation, Step by Step

From your first call to the day we leave your finished space, here is exactly what to expect when you work with Comfort Concepts QCA. No surprises, no pressure, no handoffs to subcontractors — just one local team handling your project from start to finish.

01

Schedule Your Free Consultation

Day 1

Call us at (563) 355-8295 or submit the form on our website to schedule a free design consultation. We offer consultations at our showroom in Bettendorf or in your home — whichever is more convenient for you. There is no charge and no obligation.

  • Choose showroom visit or in-home consultation
  • Appointments available Monday through Saturday
  • Bring photos, measurements, or inspiration — or just your questions
  • Typical consultation length: 60 to 90 minutes
02

Space Measurement and Needs Assessment

At Consultation

Your designer measures every dimension of the space with precision — width, height, and depth on each wall, including any features that affect the layout such as outlets, vents, doors, light switches, and sloped ceilings. At the same time, we discuss how you use the space, what you store, what frustrates you about the current setup, and what your budget is. This information drives the design.

  • Laser or tape measurement of all walls and surfaces
  • Notes on outlets, vents, switches, and structural features
  • Wardrobe inventory discussion for closets
  • Storage category discussion for garages, pantries, and other spaces
03

Custom Design Creation

3 to 7 Business Days

Your designer creates a custom layout using the measurements and needs assessment from your consultation. The design is built to your exact space — not a standard-size template. You receive a visual rendering of the proposed design showing the layout, components, and dimensions. We review the design together and refine it until it is exactly right.

  • Visual rendering showing your specific layout
  • Component list with dimensions and finishes
  • Design revision process until you are satisfied
  • No commitment required at the design stage
04

Material and Finish Selection

At Design Review

Once the layout is approved, you select materials and finishes. For most projects, this includes choosing the primary panel color and finish, door style if applicable, hardware finish, and any accent materials. We bring samples to your home or you visit our showroom to see finishes in person. Your designer guides you through options that work with your home's existing palette.

  • Melamine colors and finishes
  • Wood veneer and solid wood accent options
  • Hardware: pulls, knobs, hinges
  • Optional lighting and accessory selections
05

Order and Production

2 to 4 Weeks

Once you approve the design and finishes, we place your order. Components are cut, edged, and drilled to your exact specifications. This production period is typically two to four weeks depending on current shop schedule and the complexity of your project. We will give you an accurate production timeline at the time of order.

  • Custom components cut to your exact dimensions
  • Edge banding and drilling completed in production
  • Quality check before components leave production
  • Installation scheduled at time of order
06

Professional Installation

1 to 3 Days

Our installation team arrives at the scheduled time with all components, hardware, and tools. We remove the existing closet or storage system if needed, prepare the walls, and install your new system from start to finish. The team handles all mounting, assembly, leveling, and final adjustments. We clean up completely before we leave.

  • Removal of existing system if present
  • Wall preparation including patching and anchoring
  • Full installation from panels to hardware
  • Level and square checks throughout installation
07

Final Walkthrough and Handoff

At Installation Completion

Before we leave, your installer walks you through the completed installation — showing you how adjustable components work, demonstrating any mechanical features such as pull-out drawers, soft-close hinges, or Murphy bed mechanisms, and answering any questions. You inspect the installation together and we address any concerns on the spot.

  • Review of all functional components
  • Demonstration of adjustable features
  • Immediate address of any concerns
  • Cleanup of all materials and packaging
08

Common Questions About Our Process

Do I need to be home during installation?

Yes. We ask that an adult be present during installation to answer questions and review the work at completion. Most installations are completed in a single day, so the time commitment is manageable.

Who removes my existing closet system?

We do. Removal of the existing system is included in the installation. We remove wire shelving, old organizers, and existing components and dispose of them.

What if something is wrong after installation?

Contact us at (563) 355-8295 and we will address the issue promptly. We are a local company and we stand behind our work. You will always be able to reach a person on our team — not a call center.

Can I change my design after I have approved it?

Design changes are easiest to make before your order goes into production. Once components are cut, changes may affect the timeline and cost. We encourage you to take your time during the design review phase before approving.

Do you offer financing?

Please ask about financing options during your consultation. We work with homeowners on payment arrangements for larger projects.
