Custom Closets for New Construction Homes in the Quad Cities

Buying or building a new home is the best time to design a custom closet. The space is empty, the walls are clean, and there are no existing systems to work around. You can choose exactly what you want — not fix what you have. At Comfort Concepts QCA, we work with new construction buyers and builders throughout the Quad Cities to design and install custom closets, garage storage, pantries, mudrooms, and built-ins before or immediately after move-in. Starting with a properly designed closet instead of the builder-standard wire shelving means you enjoy a finished, functional home from day one. We have been working with Quad Cities builders and homeowners on new construction projects since 1989.

Who This Is For

  • New home buyers who want to replace or upgrade builder-standard wire closets before or at move-in
  • Custom home builders looking for a closet design partner for their clients
  • Anyone building a custom home who wants every storage space designed from scratch
  • Buyers in new developments who want their home to stand out with finished, custom storage
  • Production home buyers who want to upgrade the builder allowance for closets

What We Build

New Construction Design Timing Options

Pre-Move-In Design

We design and install your closets in the empty home before you move in — the easiest possible installation and the most furniture-perfect result.

During Construction

We work with your builder to coordinate installation during the construction process — potentially integrating with other millwork in the home.

Just After Move-In

We install closets after you have moved in but within the first weeks — replacing the builder-standard system while the rest of the home is still being set up.

Phased Installation

Priority rooms — the primary bedroom closet and garage — installed first, additional rooms added over time as budget allows.

Full-Home Storage Planning

A complete storage design for every room in the home — closets, pantry, garage, mudroom, laundry room, and any built-in storage — designed as a cohesive system.

Builder Coordination

We coordinate directly with your builder for timing, access, and any structural considerations that affect the installation.

Why It Matters

Common Problems We Solve

Every project we take on starts with a real problem — wasted space, morning frustration, rooms that never feel quite right. Here's what we fix.

  • Builder-standard wire closets are the lowest-quality storage in an otherwise high-quality new home
  • Moving into a new home and immediately needing to fix the closets
  • New home design does not include a proper pantry or mudroom storage system
  • Garage in a new home has no wall storage or organization from the builder
  • Custom home with a beautiful design ruined by inadequate closet and storage planning

Where Quad Cities New Construction Is Happening

Eldridge is the clearest example of the new-construction wave in our area — one of the fastest-growing cities in Iowa, with colonials, open-concept ranches, and two-stories built from the 2000s through today, typically with three to five bedrooms. Families move in for the North Scott schools and the space, and then discover the same thing in every builder-grade home: wire shelving that wastes a large share of each closet’s potential. Upgrading the master walk-in is one of the first projects new Eldridge homeowners request.

The same pattern holds in Pleasant Valley, where custom new construction and major remodels are common and homes routinely include multiple walk-in closets, three-car garages, and full-size laundry rooms — all spaces that are framed generously but delivered nearly empty.

A New-Construction Garage, Done Right

Storage in a new home is not just closets. A recent Eldridge garage project started with box towers against every wall and two cars parked in the driveway all winter. We chalked both parking footprints first, then designed into what remained: closed charcoal cabinets for seasonal bins and chemicals, slatwall panels that put tools and bikes at eye level on movable hooks, and a butcher-block workbench near the outlets. Installed over two days — and both cars park inside now.

Comfort Concepts QCA has been family-owned since 1989, and our own in-house team handles design and installation. Visit the 2,700-square-foot showroom at 1741 State Street in Bettendorf — open Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 4 PM, after hours by appointment — to see full closet, garage, and mudroom displays before your build closes.
