Custom closet designed for a Hampton, Illinois home — Comfort Concepts QCA

Custom Closets in Hampton, IL

Hampton is a small Illinois community with well-established homes whose storage often reflects a different era. Single rods, one shelf, and a wire rack — installed when the home was built and never updated. Comfort Concepts QCA has been helping Hampton homeowners transform those spaces into modern, functional storage since 1989. We design custom closets, pantries, garage systems, and mudrooms built to the exact dimensions of your home. Free in-home consultations are available in Hampton. Comfort Concepts QCA is a custom closet and home storage company serving the Quad Cities.

Storage Challenges in Hampton Homes

Hampton sits where the Rock River meets the Mississippi, and its history as a river and limestone-quarrying community shows in its housing stock: most homes date to the early and mid-20th century, built in an era when a bedroom closet meant a shallow recess with one rod and one shelf. Wardrobes have grown since then; the closets have not.

The good news is that older closets respond dramatically to custom organization. A typical single-rod closet uses hanging space along one line and leaves the volume above and below it empty. Reconfiguring that same footprint with double-hang sections, a drawer tower, and adjustable shelving routinely doubles or triples usable capacity — without moving a wall, and usually in a single installation day.

What a Reach-In Upgrade Actually Looks Like

One of our recent projects in nearby Davenport is a good preview of what an older reach-in can become. The homeowners had one wire shelf and one rod, a closet stuffed shut, and half a wardrobe living in the guest room. We mapped the wardrobe first — mostly shirts and folded knits — then replaced the single rod with four hanging zones, added a center tower with five soft-close drawers, and filled the low dead zone with angled shoe shelves. The whole system went in in one morning, behind the same sliding doors.

The result: the entire wardrobe fits in one closet again, the bedroom dresser became unnecessary, and every shelf is adjustable so the layout can shift as needs change. That same approach — measure the wardrobe, not just the walls — is how we design every Hampton project.

From Our Bettendorf Showroom to Hampton

Hampton is about 18 miles from our showroom at 1741 State Street in Bettendorf — an easy trip for a free in-home consultation, and an easy trip for you if you would rather start by seeing materials in person. The 2,700-square-foot showroom lets you open the drawers, feel the finishes, and compare hardware and accessories before committing to a design. We are open Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 4 PM, with after-hours visits by appointment.

Comfort Concepts QCA has been family-owned since 1989, and the same team that designs your system installs it — one point of accountability from first measurement to final walkthrough.
